Sent August 23, 2008, in response to my discontinuous-tension cube. He represented it as follows: “The first model with the linked-together three-struts was a more or less planar piece I called a ‘marching’ form. The modules were complete in themselves but had one or two common struts with their neighbors. I added tension lines in places connecting one module to another to stabilize the piece, otherwise the modules were able to rock rotationally.”
