intersection of six punchcard tetrahelices

The cluster on the left is the intersection of six right-handed spiraling tetrahelices. This is the greatest number of tetrahelices a given tetrahedron can accommodate.

At its core is the figure on the right, the star tetrahedron, a tetrahedron with tetrahedra bonded to each of its four faces.
